Located in the gay district of Shinjuku Ni-chome, King Tokyo is a top spot for gay nightlife with themed nights, gogo dancers, and top DJs. It sits opposite the lesbian bar, aptly named QUEEN. Very foreigner-friendly with English-speaking staff.

While the interiors of King are classy, the buzz is almost always outside. You'll find people spilling out onto the street, especially on weekends, which is a great way to meet and mingle.

Bar Blacknude is a small gay bar with karaoke in Shinjuku Ni-chome. Foreigners are welcome. Muscular staff, fun and friendly atmosphere.

Trap' bar is a gay bar in the Shinjuku Ni-chome that has been serving the gay neighbourhood since it opened in 2016.

Bridge is a gay bar in Shinjuku Ni-chome. As it's on the 6th floor of its building, the wide window overlooking the gayborhood provides a great view. The owner’s personality fills the cosy interior, which feels a little like being invited into a friend’s apartment.

There’s also a balcony for warm evenings, a good cocktail and drinks selection, and foreigner-friendly staff who are happy to chat in English.

One of the earliest gay bars established in the Ni-chome neighbourhood of Tokyo. New Sazae has been an institution since its founding in 1966. Marroad is a gay bar in Tokyo that has been operating for over 50 years. The bar serves whisky, Champagne, and sparkling wine starting at ¥5,500. There is also a ¥2,200 table charge with one complimentary drink. For those looking to maximise value for money, the bar has a 2-hour, all-you-can-drink promo for ¥3,300 per person.

2’s Cabin is one of Tokyo’s established FTM-focused bars, with locations in Shinjuku Ni-chome and San-chome. The compact Ni-chome branch has around 13 seats and a sociable atmosphere in the heart Tokyo's gayborhood, while the San-chome venue offers a little more space and easier access from JR Shinjuku Station.

HOME Shibuya has been temporarily closed since November 2025. There is no news of reopening as of 2026.

HOME is a local gay bar in Shibuya that welcomes everyone - gay, bi, straight, women, foreigners, etc.

They have been serving delicious cocktails for more than 10 years. The bar employs an all-LGBT staff. While not everyone is fluent in English, the owner is.
